Back to School…Already?!!

I feel like we are just getting the summer started. Went to the beach. Swam in the community pool. Set off fireworks. Had a BBQ in the backyard. Then, yesterday I went to the store and saw rows and rows of school supplies. Can't be time??  Next I saw on Facebook, an excited mother posted her a picture of herself at the store shopping for school supplies. Seriously??She has the list? Two times within the same day, a quick look of shock came over my face. How can it be this time already? I'm just getting the summer started and it's already time to think about "back to school".

After I calmed down, I said to myself, “It’s July….I’ve got time.”  Then I remembered the horror of last year when I was shopping on tax free weekend with other crazed-eye parents. I thought it seemed like a good idea. Save a couple of dollars.  Oh no, the stores were a wreck and the search for the mysterious “yellow folder without three-rings” became overwhelming. I think I ended up at three different stores to complete the 2nd grade list. I cannot repeat this again!

Last year, I only had one school list to complete. This year I have two kids with two different school lists!

After last years’ experience, I went to Facebook and asked others how they acquire their school supplies. The overwhelming answer was to order online. So, I am going to give Amazon a try this year….even though I have a desire to go to the stores and shop. Trying to shop in crowds with three kids in tow looking for the safety scissors and "fat #2 pencils" is not my idea of a fun shopping experience.

Amazon makes total sense to me. I use it all year long. Need birthday party supplies, need an office gift, need a president costume for a pre-k child, need cleaning supplies, or even a twin mattress…my Amazon purchasing list goes on and on. Sun, rain, snow…somehow Amazon gets to my front door in 2 days.  Amazon Prime is definitely one of my mommy favorites and maybe the best "time management" gift I have ever received.

This year I am calming looking forward to a much better school supply shopping experience. All I need to do now is find the school lists!

How do you complete your childrens’ school lists?
